EGG MASALA DRY | EGG RECIPES | BOILED EGG QUICK RECIPES

Hi Guys!

This is my very first experiment on eggs to be posted in this blog. As we all know, eggs are a rich source of protein and vitamins. We must include at least one egg per day in our diet. Egg is a versatile ingredient and majority of us love to cook and eat egg dishes because lot many dishes can be prepared quickly as compared to fish or meat.

I recently prepared this dish and thought it would be great if I could share one of the easiest boiled egg recipes to you all.

ABOUT THIS DISH

Talking about this dish. Again, this Dry Egg Masala is a very simple, instant and no fuss dish. All we need is few boiled eggs, vegetables and spices that are readily available in every household. This dish takes approx. 20 mins to cook including the preparation time.

Egg Masala Dry can be served with roti and it goes well with any rice items and other breads too.

I have included egg yolk as well as it brings more taste to the dish but only egg whites can also be used.

Let's quickly check how to prepare this flavorful Dry egg masala dish.

HOW DO WE PREPARE DRY EGG MASALA

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 onions
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 red chili
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander power
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

for marination

  • 3-4 Boiled eggs cut into halves
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

for garnishing

  • Mint leaves
  • Coriander leaves(optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs in a container. Note that the eggs should be hard boiled.
  2. Meanwhile, make the masala ready.
  3. Chop the tomato into cubes and onions into a combination of large and small sizes. Long slit the green and red chilies.
  4. Once the eggs are boiled completely, take it out and wash with cold water. Peel off the eggs and marinate it with turmeric and salt. Then cut the eggs into halves. Let it rest for few mins.
  5. Heat oil in a pan, keep it on low flame and add the garlic into the pan. The garlic can be chopped and added too. But I prefer to add one whole clove of garlic.
  6. Add the chopped onions. Fry it for 1 min and add the chopped tomatoes to the pan.
  7. Add pepper power, coriander powder, cumin powder and little bit of salt.
  8. Toss all the ingredients until it gets cooked and turns into a consistent mixture. Add little water so that the ingredients binds well with one another.
  9. Now take the marinated eggs that has been cut into halves and add it to the mixture. Give a gentle toss and mix it well. Cook it for about 5 mins. Garnish it with fresh mint and coriander leaves and this Dry Egg Masala is ready to serve!

Serve it with hot with any Indian breads or rice items.

NOTE

  1. Egg yolks should be excluded if a person has high levels of cholesterol.
  2. The boiled eggs should be cut exactly into halves and not into size lesser than that. As smaller size of eggs might get mashed into the masala mixture while tossing.
  3. Eggs should be hard boiled.

This Boiled Egg Masala Dry is extremely delicious, healthy and takes only few minutes to prepare.
