Grilled peri peri chicken | oven grilled chicken

I am back with a savory dish this time. This Grilled Peri Peri Chicken dish is tasty and full of flavors. The magic ingredient of this dish is the Peri Peri sauce.



What is Peri Peri sauce?


Peri Peri sauce originated in South Africa and was later imported to Portugal. The sauce is made from peri peri chillies and has tangy and spicy flavors. It is easily available in the market. Oh! You don't have it? Don't worry I will also share how to make Peri Peri sauce from scratch.
Let's talk about the nutritional value of grilled chicken in peri peri sauce and how it tastes.
Peri Peri sauce gives a tangy and medium hot spicy taste to the chicken. Grilled chicken gives you good amount of protein and and energy. This dish has been cooked with less oil.

How to make grilled chicken with peri peri sauce ?


It is quite easy to prepare this dish with less ingredients and effort required.

Ingredients : 

  • 6 Chicken pieces (boneless or with bones)

    For marination -

       1 tsp turmeric
       1 tsp cumin and pepper paste
       2 tsp garlic and ginger paste
       1 tsp salt
       1/2 tsp red chili powder
       2 tsp Peri Peri sauce
       1-2 tbsp oil

    For garnishing -

        5-6 cherry tomatoes
        Cilantro
        Lemon slices

    For Peri Peri sauce (If you do not have peri peri sauce)

        Red bell peppers/Red peri peri chillies
        Smoked paprika
        Garlic cloves
        Cilantro
        Lemon juice
        Salt
        Oil 

Instructions :

 For Peri Peri sauce : 

  •  Grind all the ingredients by adding little water to get a thick paste. The peri peri sauce is ready.

 For the grilled chicken :

  • Take a bowl, add the chicken pieces and all the above ingredients required for marination. Mix it well and keep it aside for 30 mins to an hour.
  • After marination time is over, brush the baking tray with little oil and put it into oven. Grill the chicken for 30-40 mins.
  • Take the chicken and place them on a plate. Garnish it with roasted cherry tomatoes, cilantro and lemon slices.
         And the dish is ready!


Tips :


  • You can serve the dish with mayonaise.
  • To prepare the peri sauce, if peri peri chillies are not available then you can use red bell peppers.
